In general, imports, however, showed a pronounced downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X cubic meters in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, wood residues imports rose notably to $X in 2020. Total imports indicated resilient growth from 2007 to 2020: its value decreased at an average annual rate of -X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. The level of import peaked in 2020 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Moldova (X cubic meters) and Belarus (X cubic meters) represented roughly X% of total imports of wood residues in 2020.
