The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 39%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, glass fibre fabrics exports declined significantly to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +36.3% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 57%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

Belarus represented the major exporter of glass fibre fabrics in the CIS, with the volume of exports amounting to X tons, which was near 76% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Moldova (X tons), mixing up a 24% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to glass fibre fabrics exports from Belarus stood at +2.8%. At the same time, Moldova (+64.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +64.1% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Moldova increased by +23 percentage points.

In 2022, approx. X tons of glass fibre fabrics were imported in the CIS; remaining constant against 2021. Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by +0.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 70% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 56%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Russia dominates imports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. 82% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons), mixing up a 6% share of total imports. Belarus (X tons), Uzbekistan (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to glass fibre fabrics imports into Russia stood at +7.2%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+42.1%), Belarus (+10.8%), Kazakhstan (+9.2%) and Moldova (+4.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +42.1% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Uzbekistan increased by +4.1 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported glass fibre fabrics in the CIS, comprising 81% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 6.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 4.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+6.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
