Russia dominates imports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 90% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons), committing a 6.8% share of total imports. Belarus (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2020 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to flax fabric imports into Russia stood at +1.6%. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+418.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +418.9% from 2020-2022. By contrast, Belarus (-2.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kazakhstan (+6.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -6% from 2020 to 2022, respectively. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
