In value terms, man-made filament fabric production shrank to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, production recorded a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production reached the maximum level at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, production failed to regain momentum.

Exports in CIS
In 2021, overseas shipments of woven fabrics of man-made filaments and staple fibers were finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports recorded a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 85% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, man-made filament fabric exports surged to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Russia (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) prevails in exports structure, together creating 88% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), comprising a 7.8% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of +26.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest man-made filament fabric supplying countries in the CIS were Russia ($X), Belarus ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X), together comprising 95% of total exports.
Kyrgyzstan, with a CAGR of +10.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -17.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the export price increased by 52% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+9.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS
For the third year in a row, the CIS recorded growth in purchases abroad of woven fabrics of man-made filaments and staple fibers, which increased by 92% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate buoyant growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, man-made filament fabric imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Russia dominates imports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near 74% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons), together mixing up a 17% share of total imports. Belarus (X tons), Tajikistan (X tons) and Azerbaijan (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to man-made filament fabric imports into Russia stood at +14.0%. At the same time, Azerbaijan (+17.1%), Kazakhstan (+16.6%), Belarus (+13.5%), Tajikistan (+2.8%) and Kyrgyzstan (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Azerbaijan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +17.1% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Russia and Kazakhstan increased by +11 and +2.6 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Belarus ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 73% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan, which together accounted for a further 16%.
Azerbaijan, with a CAGR of +19.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, reducing by -16.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 30% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+2.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
