Other Cereals Market Size in Colombia

Canada (X tons) was the main destination for other cereals exports from Colombia, accounting for a 67% share of total exports. In value terms, Canada ($X) remains the key foreign market for other cereals exports from Colombia, comprising 54% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 26% share of total exports. It was followed by Guatemala, with a 15% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Canada amounted to +52.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (+48.7% per year) and Guatemala (+4.7% per year).

The average other cereals export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 67% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 85% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 122%. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

India (X tons), Bolivia (X tons) and Ecuador (X tons) were the main suppliers of other cereals imports to Colombia, with a combined 91% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Ecuador (with a CAGR of +25.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Bolivia ($X), India ($X) and the United States ($X) appeared to be the largest other cereals suppliers to Colombia, with a combined 85% share of total imports. Ecuador and Peru lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 15%.
