Singapore (X tons) was the main destination for cherry and sour cherry exports from Colombia, accounting for a 45% share of total exports. Moreover, cherry and sour cherry exports to Singapore exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Czech Republic (X kg), sixfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Singapore amounted to -2.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+30.7% per year) and Finland (-17.0% per year).
In value terms, Singapore ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for cherries and sour cherries exports from Colombia, comprising 49% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Finland ($X), with a 1.1% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Singapore totaled +9.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Finland (-21.2% per year) and the Czech Republic (+15.1% per year).

The average cherry and sour cherry export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 91% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a resilient increase. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Aruba (+21.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Colombia
For the third year in a row, Colombia recorded growth in purchases abroad of cherries and sour cherries, which increased by 23% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 212% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, cherry and sour cherry imports contracted notably to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 264% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Chile (X tons) constituted the largest cherry and sour cherry supplier to Colombia, accounting for a 88% share of total imports. Moreover, cherry and sour cherry imports from Chile exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), sevenfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Chile totaled -1.1%.
In value terms, Chile ($X) constituted the largest supplier of cherries and sour cherries to Colombia, comprising 83% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United States ($X), with a 17% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Chile stood at -3.9%.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average cherry and sour cherry import price amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -40.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a perceptible slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 31%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then declined remarkably in the following year.
