In value terms, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 71%. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The United States (X units) was the main destination for exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments from Colombia, with a 72% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Honduras (X units), more than tenfold. The Dominican Republic (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 2.7% share.

In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments exports from Colombia, comprising 44% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Canada, with a 5.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to the United States amounted to +9.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (+87.7% per year) and Canada (+7.5% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average export price for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 9.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 18%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

After four years of growth, purchases abroad of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments decreased by -3.8% to X units in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 120% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments stood at $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw tangible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 136% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports of failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest non-woven, felt and coated textile garment supplier to Colombia, with a 35% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Mexico (X units), threefold. Spain (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at -2.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mexico (+3.1% per year) and Spain (+42.0% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments to Colombia, comprising 36% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mexico ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Myanmar, with a 3.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mexico (+3.6% per year) and Myanmar (+17.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average import price for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 4.2% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, import price for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments increased by +20.0% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 57%.
