Brazil (X units), Costa Rica (X units) and Peru (X units) were the main destinations of glass electrical insulator exports from Colombia, with a combined 83% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Guatemala and Bolivia, which together accounted for a further 15%.

For the fourth year in a row, Colombia recorded decline in purchases abroad of glass electrical insulators, which decreased by -45.5% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a measured increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 945% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, glass electrical insulator imports shrank markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 702%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
