The Colombian mineral or aerated water market shrank to $X in 2022, waning by -8.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, enjoyed a buoyant increase. Chile (X tons) was the main destination for mineral or aerated water exports from Colombia, accounting for a 72% share of total exports. Moreover, mineral or aerated water exports to Chile exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), sixfold.

In 2022, the amount of mineral or aerated waters imported into Colombia dropped markedly to X tons, with a decrease of -20.5% against the previous year. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 242% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, mineral or aerated water imports shrank sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 181% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of mineral or aerated water to Colombia, accounting for a 34% share of total imports. Moreover, mineral or aerated water imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Netherlands (X tons), with a 2.6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Italy totaled +13.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (-18.3% per year) and the United States (-5.7% per year).

Overall, import price indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mineral or aerated water import price decreased by -6.4% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 35%.
