The Colombian nitrogen market reached $X in 2021, with an increase of 3.8% against the previous year. Imports into Colombia

In 2021, the amount of nitrogen imported into Colombia rose to X cubic meters, surging by 2.9% compared with 2020. In general, imports enjoyed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 4,857%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X cubic meters. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, nitrogen imports reached $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 155%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, the United States (X cubic meters) constituted the largest supplier of nitrogen to Colombia, with a 72% share of total imports. Moreover, nitrogen imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X cubic meters), more than tenfold. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 3,061%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per cubic meter in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
