Chile (X tons), Ecuador (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main destinations of non-wheat flour exports from Colombia, together comprising 79% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Colombia
In 2021, imports of non-wheat flours into Colombia contracted to X tons, waning by -13.1% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +34.7% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 46%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, non-wheat flour imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +43.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 54% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In 2021, Guyana (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of non-wheat flour to Colombia, accounting for a 53% share of total imports. Moreover, non-wheat flour imports from Guyana exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Chile (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by the United States (X tons), with a 6.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Guyana totaled +21.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Chile (-0.7% per year) and the United States (+3.7% per year).
In value terms, the largest non-wheat flour suppliers to Colombia were the United States ($X), Chile ($X) and Guyana ($X), with a combined 77% share of total imports. Panama lagged somewhat behind, accounting for a further 4.8%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Panama, with a CAGR of +72.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Guyana ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
