Venezuela, with a CAGR of +40.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average vitamin export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with a decrease of -7.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a mild descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 36%. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Vitamin imports into Colombia surged to X tons in 2021, picking up by 17% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +43.7% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 20%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of vitamin to Colombia, with a 51% share of total imports. Moreover, vitamin imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), threefold. Switzerland (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +7.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+4.0% per year) and Switzerland (+5.5% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of provitamins and vitamins to Colombia, comprising 48% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Switzerland, with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China stood at +7.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-0.6% per year) and Switzerland (-1.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average vitamin import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 13% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton.
