In general, exports, however, saw significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 515% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, exports of pulp from fibres other than wood dropped sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by 508% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Peru (X tons), the United States (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main destinations of exports of pulp from fibres other than wood from Colombia, together accounting for 68% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Peru (with a CAGR of +81.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for pulp from fibres other than wood exported from Colombia were the United States ($X), Peru ($X) and France ($X), with a combined 60% share of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, Peru, with a CAGR of +106.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 26%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+55.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Colombia
After two years of growth, purchases abroad of pulp from fibres other than wood decreased by -1.2% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 151%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, imports of pulp from fibres other than wood dropped to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a noticeable decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 139% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest pulp from fibres other than wood supplier to Colombia, accounting for a 69% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of pulp from fibres other than wood from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), threefold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the United States amounted to -2.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+18.1% per year) and Germany (-2.8% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($X) constituted the largest supplier of pulp from fibres other than wood to Colombia, comprising 68% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 20% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from the United States totaled -6.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+12.6% per year) and Germany (-7.8% per year).

The average import price for pulp from fibres other than wood stood at $X per ton in 2022, falling by -2.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 8.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
