In 2022, the Colombian hand stamp market increased by 13% to $X for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, consumption saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Paraguay (X units) was the main destination for hand stamp exports from Colombia, accounting for a 66% share of total exports. The third position in this ranking was taken by Chile (X units), with a 6.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Paraguay amounted to +21.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Panama (+45.0% per year) and Chile (-27.1% per year).

In value terms, Paraguay ($X), Chile ($X) and Panama ($X) were the largest markets for hand stamp exported from Colombia worldwide, with a combined 85% share of total exports.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Panama, with a CAGR of +46.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average hand stamp export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -15.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, posted a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 64%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2021, and then declined markedly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Venezuela ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, after four years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of stamps for use in the hand, when their volume increased by 10% to X units. In general, imports, however, recorded a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, hand stamp imports reached $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a noticeable slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest hand stamp supplier to Colombia, accounting for a 49% share of total imports. Moreover, hand stamp imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), twofold. Austria (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at -4.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (-2.0% per year) and Austria (+2.8% per year).

In value terms, Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), China ($X) and Austria ($X) were the largest hand stamp suppliers to Colombia, with a combined 62% share of total imports.

Among the main suppliers, Austria, with a CAGR of -0.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.

The average hand stamp import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 3.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average import price increased by 33% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
