Curacao (X tons), Aruba (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main destinations of tomato exports from Colombia, with a combined 93% share of total exports.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 21% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cuba ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Curacao ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Colombia
Tomato imports into Colombia declined rapidly to X tons in 2022, shrinking by -51.6% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 306%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, tomato imports reduced sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 465% against the previous year. In 2022, Ecuador (X tons) was the main tomato supplier to Colombia, with a 92% share of total imports. Moreover, tomato imports from Ecuador exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), more than tenfold.

In value terms, the largest tomato suppliers to Colombia were the United States ($X), Ecuador ($X) and Costa Rica ($X), with a combined 98% share of total imports.
In terms of the main suppliers, Costa Rica, with a CAGR of +8.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.
