The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 16%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The United States (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Guatemala (X units) were the main destinations of tennis and badminton rackets exports from Costa Rica, with a combined 61% share of total exports.

In 2022, the average tennis and badminton rackets export price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 4.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 19%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Guatemala ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+40.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Costa Rica

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of tennis, badminton or similar rackets, when their volume decreased by -39.3% to X units. Overall, imports showed a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 39%. Imports peaked at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, tennis and badminton rackets imports contracted sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

China (X units), the United States (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of tennis and badminton rackets imports to Costa Rica, with a combined 65% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of +66.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
