Over the period under review, the exports of attained the maximum at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, exports of coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres expanded to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 92%. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The Netherlands (X tons), France (X tons) and Ghana (X tons) were the main destinations of exports of coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres from Cote d'Ivoire.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Ghana (with a CAGR of +49.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ghana ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ghana (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Imports of Coconut, Abaca, Ramie and other Vegetable Textile Fibres
Imports into Cote d'Ivoire
In 2022, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres, when their volume decreased by -37.9% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, recorded a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 254% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced notably in the following year.
In value terms, imports of coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres dropped sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 414% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.
Imports by Country
Kenya (X tons), Madagascar (X tons) and Tanzania (X tons) were the main suppliers of imports of coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres to Cote d'Ivoire.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Madagascar (with a CAGR of +20.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Kenya ($X) constituted the largest supplier of coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres to Cote d'Ivoire, comprising 65% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Madagascar ($X), with a 26% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Kenya totaled +20.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Madagascar (+15.3% per year) and Tanzania (+4.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres amounted to $X per ton, growing by 3.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 53%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Tanzania ($X per ton), while the price for Madagascar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
