The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

New Caledonia (X units) was the main destination for motorcycle, scooter and side-car exports from Cote d'Ivoire, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, motorcycle, scooter and side-car exports to New Caledonia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Burkina Faso (X units), threefold. France (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with an X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to New Caledonia was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Burkina Faso (X% per year) and France (X% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for motorcycle, scooter and side-car exported from Cote d'Ivoire were France ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and New Caledonia ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. Burkina Faso, Congo, Lebanon and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Congo, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average motorcycle, scooter and side-car export price amounted to $X per unit, declining by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a modest increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by X%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Congo (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of motorcycles, scooters and side-cars decreased by X% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports saw a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, motorcycle, scooter and side-car imports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by X%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of motorcycle, scooter and side-car to Cote d'Ivoire, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, motorcycle, scooter and side-car imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Japan (X units), more than tenfold. India (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Japan (X% per year) and India (X% per year).

In 2022, the average motorcycle, scooter and side-car import price amounted to $X per unit, rising by X% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of X%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per unit), while the price for Burkina Faso ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
