From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Nigeria (+909.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Cote d'Ivoire
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of salt and pure sodium chloride, when their volume decreased by -20% to X tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then fell sharply in the following year.

In 2022, Turkey (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of salt to Cote d'Ivoire, accounting for a 70% share of total imports. Moreover, salt imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Israel (X tons), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Egypt (X tons), with an 8.3% share.
