The Croatian accordion market surged to $X in 2021, increasing by 68% against the previous year. In value terms, accordion exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports recorded a mild expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 68%. The exports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Germany (X units) was the main destination for accordion exports from Croatia, with a 56% share of total exports. Moreover, accordion exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Serbia (X units), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Israel (X units), with a 6.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany stood at +3.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Serbia (+21.7% per year) and Israel (+8.1% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for accordions and mouth organs exports from Croatia, comprising 49% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Serbia ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Israel, with a 5.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany amounted to +7.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Serbia (+43.9% per year) and Israel (+6.0% per year).

In 2021, supplies from abroad of accordions and mouth organs increased by 47% to X units for the first time since 2012, thus ending a eight-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, faced a deep contraction. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +126.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, import price indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, accordion import price decreased by -13.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average import price increased by 54% against the previous year.
