In value terms, ABS copolymers exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports recorded a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 586%. The exports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The Netherlands (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) were the main destinations of ABS copolymers exports from Croatia, together comprising 53% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +87.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for ABS copolymers exported from Croatia were Serbia ($X), Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), with a combined 54% share of total exports. After three years of decline, supplies from abroad of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (abs) copolymers in primary forms increased by 23% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports saw a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 41%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, ABS copolymers imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Serbia (X tons), Slovenia (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of ABS copolymers imports to Croatia, together comprising 72% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Serbia (with a CAGR of +300.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Italy ($X), Slovenia ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the largest ABS copolymers suppliers to Croatia, together accounting for 72% of total imports. These countries were followed by Serbia, France and Belgium, which together accounted for a further 26%.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for Serbia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
