Austria (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tons) were the main destinations of iron angle exports from Croatia, with a combined 64% share of total exports. Slovenia, Turkey, Serbia and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 32%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +315.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, iron angle export price increased by +107.1% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 31%. The export price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, iron angle imports soared to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Italy (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Austria (X tons) were the main suppliers of iron angle imports to Croatia, with a combined 56% share of total imports. Slovenia, Romania, Spain, the Czech Republic, Germany, Turkey, Hungary and Luxembourg lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 42%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovenia (with a CAGR of +26.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Italy ($X), Austria ($X) and Poland ($X) were the largest iron angle suppliers to Croatia, with a combined 58% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Slovenia, Romania, Spain, the Czech Republic, Germany, Turkey, Hungary and Luxembourg, which together accounted for a further 40%.

The average iron angle import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 52% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while the price for Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
