Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, smart card imports soared to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 25%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Germany (X units), Austria (X units) and Hungary (X units) were the main suppliers of smart card imports to Croatia, together comprising 61% of total imports. France, the Czech Republic, China, Italy, Slovakia and Singapore lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 29%.
