Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, chandelier exports shrank to $X in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +10.3% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 39%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Slovenia (X units) was the main destination for chandelier exports from Croatia, accounting for a 563% share of total exports. Moreover, chandelier exports to Slovenia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Bosnia and Herzegovina (X units), sixfold. Serbia (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 74% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Slovenia amounted to -3.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bosnia and Herzegovina (-0.9% per year) and Serbia (+4.4% per year).

In value terms, Slovenia ($X) remains the key foreign market for chandeliers exports from Croatia, comprising 49% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X), with a 7.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Serbia, with a 6.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Slovenia stood at +2.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bosnia and Herzegovina (+0.0% per year) and Serbia (+10.0% per year).

In 2022, the average chandelier export price amounted to $X per unit, waning by -13.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 35%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then declined in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, overseas purchases of chandeliers increased by 38% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports continue to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 66% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, chandelier imports declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +10.4% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank in the following year.

Germany (X units), China (X units) and Hungary (X units) were the main suppliers of chandelier imports to Croatia, together accounting for 32% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +38.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
