The Croatian computing machinery market expanded remarkably to $X in 2021, with an increase of 7.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. In 2021, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of computing machinery and parts and accessories thereof, when their volume decreased by -6.3% to X tons. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 122% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, computing machinery exports expanded sharply to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 78%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tons), Serbia (X tons) and Slovenia (X tons) were the main destinations of computing machinery exports from Croatia, with a combined 34% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Montenegro, Germany, Italy, Austria, North Macedonia, Poland and Kosovo, which together accounted for a further 38%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +38.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Serbia ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for computing machinery exported from Croatia worldwide, together accounting for 36% of total exports. These countries were followed by Slovenia, Belgium, Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Montenegro, Germany, North Macedonia, Poland and Kosovo, which together accounted for a further 29%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, the Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +23.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average computing machinery export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 22% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 198% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2018 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+12.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Croatia
In 2021, the amount of computing machinery and parts and accessories thereof imported into Croatia rose slightly to X tons, with an increase of 2% on the previous year. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -5.3% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 125%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, computing machinery imports expanded significantly to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The Netherlands (X tons), China (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of computing machinery imports to Croatia, together accounting for 49% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +45.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Germany ($X) and China ($X) constituted the largest computing machinery suppliers to Croatia, with a combined 48% share of total imports.
