For the sixth consecutive year, the Croatian lawn mower market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by 13% to $X in 2022. Overall, consumption saw strong growth. In general, exports, however, showed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 228% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2021, and then fell markedly in the following year.

In value terms, lawn mower exports expanded slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 147%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Slovenia (X units) was the main destination for lawn mower exports from Croatia, with a 73% share of total exports. Moreover, lawn mower exports to Slovenia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Bosnia and Herzegovina (X units), ninefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Serbia (X units), with a 6.6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Slovenia amounted to +21.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bosnia and Herzegovina (-4.0% per year) and Serbia (-2.8% per year).

In value terms, Slovenia ($X) remains the key foreign market for mowers for lawns, parks, golf courses or sports grounds exports from Croatia, comprising 75% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Serbia ($X), with a 7.8% share of total exports. It was followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a 7.6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Slovenia stood at +25.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Serbia (-0.1% per year) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (-1.1% per year).

The average lawn mower export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 35% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 39% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Serbia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to France ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

China (X units), Hungary (X units) and Slovenia (X units) were the main suppliers of lawn mower imports to Croatia, together accounting for 63% of total imports. Austria, the United States, the Czech Republic, Poland, Italy and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.
