Capacitor Market Size in Croatia

The Croatian capacitor market surged to $X in 2021, increasing by 17% against the previous year. Overall, the total consumption indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the last nine years. After six years of growth, shipments abroad of electrical capacitors decreased by -17.5% to X tons in 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 367% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then fell markedly in the following year.

In value terms, capacitor exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 115%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Austria (X tons) were the main destinations of capacitor exports from Croatia, together comprising 97% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Austria (with a CAGR of +109.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Austria ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for electrical capacitors exports from Croatia, comprising 53% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X), with a 25% share of total exports.

In 2021, approx. X tons of electrical capacitors were imported into Croatia; with an increase of 28% compared with 2020 figures. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, capacitor imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +58.2% against 2018 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Italy (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Slovenia (X tons) were the main suppliers of capacitor imports to Croatia, with a combined 89% share of total imports. Austria, Romania and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 6.3%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Romania (with a CAGR of +84.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
