In value terms, glass fibres and wool exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a noticeable expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 349% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Slovenia (X tons) was the main destination for glass fibres and wool exports from Croatia, with a 55% share of total exports. Moreover, glass fibres and wool exports to Slovenia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tons), twofold. Serbia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 9.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Slovenia stood at +4.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bosnia and Herzegovina (+5.9% per year) and Serbia (+48.2% per year).
In value terms, Slovenia ($X), Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X) and Serbia ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for glass fibres and wool exported from Croatia worldwide, with a combined 91% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, which accounted for a further 2.7%.
Italy, with a CAGR of +56.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Croatia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of glass fibres and glass wool increased by 49% to X tons, rising for the fifth year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports saw prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 54%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, glass fibres and wool imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded resilient growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Germany (X tons), Italy (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of glass fibres and wool imports to Croatia, with a combined 50% share of total imports. Poland, Slovenia, Greece, Belarus, Slovakia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Turkey and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 45%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Greece (with a CAGR of +363.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Greece ($X per ton), while the price for Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
