The exports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, halogenated hydrocarbon derivative exports declined rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, exports saw a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 87% against the previous year. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, halogenated hydrocarbon derivative imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +84.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 86% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Moreover, halogenated hydrocarbon derivative imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), threefold. Austria (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.

Austria, Poland, France, the Czech Republic, Germany and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 25%.

Poland, with a CAGR of +135.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
