Memories Market Size in Croatia

After two years of decline, the Croatian memories market increased by 36% to $X in 2021. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was North Macedonia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to North Macedonia (+13.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +41.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 43% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X units) constituted the largest supplier of memories to Croatia, with a 54% share of total imports. Moreover, memories imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X units), fourfold. Belgium (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany amounted to +33.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+24.4% per year) and Belgium (+80.2% per year).

In value terms, the largest memories suppliers to Croatia were Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), together comprising 66% of total imports. Belgium, Poland, Taiwan (Chinese), France and China lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.

Belgium, with a CAGR of +87.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average memories import price amounted to $X per unit, approximately mirroring the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 30% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while the price for Germany ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
