In value terms, polypropylene in primary forms imports dropped to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +31.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 37%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

Italy (X tons), Romania (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of polypropylene in primary forms imports to Croatia, together comprising 47% of total imports. Slovenia, Austria, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, Belgium, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 50%.

In 2022, the average polypropylene in primary forms import price amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -5.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 38% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
