For the fifth consecutive year, Croatia recorded growth in shipments abroad of potato-diggers and potato harvesters, which increased by 98% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 3,924%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, potato harvester exports contracted slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 8,606% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tons), Serbia (X tons) and Slovenia (X kg) were the main destinations of potato harvester exports from Croatia, together comprising 100% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Serbia (with a CAGR of +80.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X), Serbia ($X) and Slovenia ($X) constituted the largest markets for potato harvester exported from Croatia worldwide, together accounting for 99% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bosnia and Herzegovina (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of potato-diggers and potato harvesters, when their volume decreased by -81.5% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by 400% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped notably in the following year.

In value terms, potato harvester imports declined remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 678% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell rapidly in the following year.

Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of potato harvester imports to Croatia, together accounting for 84% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +55.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
