The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 234% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X square meters in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, safety glass exports amounted to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 62% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Italy (X square meters) was the main destination for safety glass exports from Croatia, with a 25% share of total exports. Moreover, safety glass exports to Italy exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Austria (X square meters), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Slovenia (X square meters), with a 9.7% share.

Safety glass imports into Croatia reduced to X square meters in 2022, declining by -11.1% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 483%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X square meters in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, safety glass imports rose sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Hungary (X square meters), Poland (X square meters) and China (X square meters) were the main suppliers of safety glass imports to Croatia, together comprising 60% of total imports. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X per square meter), while the price for Malaysia ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
