After four years of growth, the Croatian market for television, video and digital cameras decreased by -3.7% to $X in 2022. In general, the total consumption indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, consumption increased by +17.7% against 2016 indices. The exports peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, television, video and digital camera exports totaled $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 210% against the previous year. Exports by Country
Montenegro (X units), Bosnia and Herzegovina (X units) and Serbia (X units) were the main destinations of television, video and digital camera exports from Croatia, with a combined 48% share of total exports. Slovenia, Germany, North Macedonia, Italy, Poland, Austria, Belgium, Albania and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 40%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +86.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for television, video and digital cameras exports from Croatia, comprising 23% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Serbia ($X), with a 9.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a 9.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany amounted to +16.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Serbia (+11.4% per year) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (+2.1% per year).

In 2022, the average export price for television, video and digital cameras amounted to $X per unit, growing by 7.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average export price increased by 28%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to North Macedonia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Croatia
In 2022, purchases abroad of television, video and digital cameras increased by 2.6% to X units, rising for the eighth consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +101.4% against 2014 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 27%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, television, video and digital camera imports declined to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 27%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest television, video and digital camera supplier to Croatia, accounting for a 43% share of total imports. Moreover, television, video and digital camera imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Hungary (X units), threefold. Slovenia (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at -3.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hungary (+63.3% per year) and Slovenia (+66.9% per year).
In value terms, the largest television, video and digital camera suppliers to Croatia were China ($X), Slovenia ($X) and Germany ($X), together comprising 53% of total imports.
Slovenia, with a CAGR of +49.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for television, video and digital cameras amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -9% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 41% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for Poland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (-0.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
