From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Italy (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Slovenia (X tons) were the main destinations of temporarily preserved vegetable exports from Croatia, together comprising 97% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Italy (with a CAGR of +1,891.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Italy ($X) remains the key foreign market for vegetables (temporarily preserved) exports from Croatia, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Spain ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Slovenia, with a 1.2% share.

Imports into Croatia
In 2022, after ten years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of vegetables (temporarily preserved), when their volume decreased by -62.6% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 135%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
In value terms, temporarily preserved vegetable imports dropped sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 241% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Belgium (X tons), India (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of temporarily preserved vegetable imports to Croatia, together comprising 87% of total imports. Italy, Poland, Slovenia and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 10%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Germany (with a CAGR of +131.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Belgium ($X), India ($X) and Spain ($X) constituted the largest temporarily preserved vegetable suppliers to Croatia, with a combined 75% share of total imports. Italy, Germany, Slovenia and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.
