In value terms, Slovenia ($X), Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X) and Serbia ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for truck and bus tyre exported from Croatia worldwide, with a combined 77% share of total exports. The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Albania, Slovakia and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 18%.

For the eighth consecutive year, Croatia recorded growth in purchases abroad of tyres for buses or lorries, which increased by 0.9% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +53.7% against 2013 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 31%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, truck and bus tyre imports totaled $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +33.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 32% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Slovenia (X units), Turkey (X units) and Slovakia (X units) were the main suppliers of truck and bus tyre imports to Croatia, together comprising 45% of total imports. Romania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, China and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 40%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +41.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
