In 2022, purchases abroad of watch straps, bands and bracelets increased by 54% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, total imports indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +131.8% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, bracelet imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports posted a noticeable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 50%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Slovenia (X units), China (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main suppliers of bracelet imports to Croatia, with a combined 56% share of total imports. Hungary, Hong Kong SAR, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 36%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +54.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest bracelet suppliers to Croatia were Slovenia ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and China ($X), with a combined 51% share of total imports.
The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +65.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
