In 2021, overseas shipments of wooden furniture of a kind used in offices were finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports posted a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 102% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, wooden office furniture exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports enjoyed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 57% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
Austria (X units), France (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main destinations of wooden office furniture exports from Croatia, with a combined 73% share of total exports. Qatar, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Italy, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 23%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Qatar (with a CAGR of +109.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average wooden office furniture export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 11% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, wooden office furniture export price increased by +74.3% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 40% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Austria ($X per unit) and the UK ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per unit) and France ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+12.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Croatia
In 2021, the amount of wooden furniture of a kind used in offices imported into Croatia expanded remarkably to X units, surging by 11% compared with 2020. Over the period under review, imports posted a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 53% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, wooden office furniture imports declined modestly to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -21.6% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 37%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Poland (X units), Italy (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of wooden office furniture imports to Croatia, with a combined 64% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, Slovenia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Austria, Serbia, North Macedonia and China, which together accounted for a further 30%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Lithuania (with a CAGR of +108.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X), Italy ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the largest wooden office furniture suppliers to Croatia, together accounting for 61% of total imports. These countries were followed by Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Austria, Serbia, North Macedonia and China, which together accounted for a further 33%.
Lithuania, with a CAGR of +136.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average wooden office furniture import price amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -10% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average import price increased by 13% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per unit), while the price for the Czech Republic ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
