The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, production increased by +45.9% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the production volume increased by 51%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X, and then declined remarkably in the following year.

Exports from Croatia
In 2022, glass fibre fabrics exports from Croatia dropped to X tons, falling by -14.3% compared with 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by 85%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, glass fibre fabrics exports shrank remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 91% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
Exports by Country
Italy (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Austria (X tons) were the main destinations of glass fibre fabrics exports from Croatia, together accounting for 68% of total exports. Turkey, Latvia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic and Serbia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 23%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +98.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and Austria ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for glass fibre fabrics exported from Croatia worldwide, with a combined 72% share of total exports. Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Latvia, the Czech Republic and Serbia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 16%.
Turkey, with a CAGR of +96.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average glass fibre fabrics export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, which is down by -3.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a slight expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average export price increased by 11% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Croatia
In 2022, after seven years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of glass fibre fabrics, when their volume decreased by -15.9% to X tons. In general, imports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 204% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then declined significantly in the following year.
In value terms, glass fibre fabrics imports declined notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 124% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, the Czech Republic (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of glass fibre fabrics to Croatia, with a 38% share of total imports. Moreover, glass fibre fabrics imports from the Czech Republic exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Latvia (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Austria (X tons), with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from the Czech Republic totaled +15.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Latvia (+64.2% per year) and Austria (+47.1% per year).
In value terms, the largest glass fibre fabrics suppliers to Croatia were the Czech Republic ($X), Austria ($X) and Italy ($X), together accounting for 58% of total imports. Latvia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, China and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 29%.
In terms of the main suppliers, North Macedonia, with a CAGR of +81.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average glass fibre fabrics import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, shrinking by -5.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 30% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for Latvia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
