Cassava Market Size in Cote d'Ivoire

Over the period under review, exports recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 313%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cassava exports contracted sharply to $X in 2022. In general, exports saw a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 177% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Burkina Faso (X tons), Mali (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main destinations of cassava exports from Cote d'Ivoire, with a combined 70% share of total exports. France, Canada, Italy, the United States and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.

For the seventh consecutive year, Cote d'Ivoire recorded growth in supplies from abroad of cassava, which increased by 161% to X tons in 2020. Over the period under review, imports posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 280%. Imports peaked in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
