Bearing Market Size in Cuba

In 2021, the Cuban bearing market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, consumption, however, recorded a deep reduction. Bearing consumption peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, bearing exports declined modestly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, faced a sharp contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 122%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Austria (X kg), Belgium (X kg) and Canada (X kg) were the main destinations of bearing exports from Cuba, with a combined 98% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Canada (with a CAGR of +8.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.

In value terms, Belgium ($X), Austria ($X) and Canada ($X) constituted the largest markets for bearing exported from Cuba worldwide, together comprising 98% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ecuador (+12.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, overseas purchases of ball or roller bearings increased by 39% to X tons for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 56% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, bearing imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Spain (X tons), Russia (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of bearing imports to Cuba, together comprising 69% of total imports.

In value terms, Spain ($X), China ($X) and Russia ($X) constituted the largest bearing suppliers to Cuba, with a combined 67% share of total imports.
