Spain (X tons), Germany (X tons) and El Salvador (X tons) were the main destinations of beer exports from Cuba, with a combined 55% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by El Salvador (with a CAGR of +3.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline.

Imports into Cuba
In 2022, approx. X tons of beer were imported into Cuba; waning by -24.2% on the year before. Overall, imports, however, showed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 203% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, beer imports shrank remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 197% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

In 2022, the Netherlands (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of beer to Cuba, accounting for a 29% share of total imports. Moreover, beer imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Germany (X tons), with a 3.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the Netherlands stood at +34.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (+109.4% per year) and Germany (+14.2% per year).
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) constituted the largest supplier of beer to Cuba, comprising 34% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Spain ($X), with a 9.4% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with a 2.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from the Netherlands amounted to +32.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (+90.2% per year) and Germany (+9.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average beer import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 2.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Brazil ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Dominican Republic (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
