Angola (X kg) was the main destination for plastic tableware and kitchenware exports from Cuba, accounting for a 91% share of total exports. Moreover, plastic tableware and kitchenware exports to Angola exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Guatemala (X kg), more than tenfold.

Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 39% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, plastic tableware and kitchenware imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The Dominican Republic (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of plastic tableware and kitchenware imports to Cuba, together comprising 66% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Spain (with a CAGR of +22.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Italy ($X) constituted the largest supplier of plastic tableware and kitchenware to Cuba, comprising 38% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Dominican Republic ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Spain, with an 11% share.
