Over the period under review, imports recorded a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 183% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances reduced remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a mild reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 149% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Panama (X tons), Ecuador (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) were the main suppliers of imports of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances to Cuba, with a combined 75% share of total imports. China, Mauritania, Spain and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 17%.
