From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, loading machinery imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 277%. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Spain (X units), China (X units) and Russia (X units) were the main suppliers of loading machinery imports to Cuba, together accounting for 20% of total imports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, France, Mexico and Japan, which together accounted for a further 8.9%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Mexico (with a CAGR of +17.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X), Spain ($X) and China ($X) appeared to be the largest loading machinery suppliers to Cuba, together comprising 33% of total imports. France, Mexico, the Netherlands, Japan, Canada and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 8.4%.
