South Korea (X tons) held a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Denmark (11%), Japan (11%), the Netherlands (9.5%) and Italy (7.3%). Belgium (X tons), Sweden (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Austria (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

Imports into the UK increased at an average annual rate of +22.6% from 2012 to 2021. By contrast, Sweden (-12.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the UK (+15 p.p.), South Korea (+11 p.p.) and Japan (+9.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2012-2021, the share of Austria (-1.7 p.p.), the Netherlands (-2.4 p.p.), Germany (-2.6 p.p.), Sweden (-5.1 p.p.), Italy (-6.3 p.p.), Belgium (-7.8 p.p.) and Denmark (-12 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, the UK ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported wood pellets into Cuba, comprising 34% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Japan ($X), with an 11% share of global imports. It was followed by Denmark, with a 10% share.

In the UK, wood pellets imports expanded at an average annual rate of +22.4% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Japan (+45.4% per year) and Denmark (+4.7% per year).
