Acetone Market Size in the Czech Republic

In 2021, the Czech acetone market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Overall, the total consumption indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last nine-year period. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+7.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic

Acetone imports into the Czech Republic rose remarkably to X tons in 2021, growing by 9% against the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 32%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, acetone imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a tangible increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 110%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Russia (X tons) were the main suppliers of acetone imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined 82% share of total imports. France, the Netherlands and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 17%.
