As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Germany (X tons), Slovakia (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main destinations of articles of zinc exports from the Czech Republic, together comprising 86% of total exports. These countries were followed by Mexico, France, Austria, Hungary, the UK and Spain, which together accounted for a further 9.9%.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, articles of zinc imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight curtailment. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest articles of zinc supplier to the Czech Republic, accounting for a 52% share of total imports. Moreover, articles of zinc imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Slovakia (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by China (X tons), with a 12% share.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, articles of zinc import price increased by +112.0% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 33% against the previous year.
