Exports from the Czech Republic
In 2022, the amount of babies clothing and accessories (not knitted or crocheted) exported from the Czech Republic expanded remarkably to X tons, surging by 7.3% against the previous year's figure. Overall, exports enjoyed prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 54%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, baby clothes exports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, exports showed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 142% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for baby clothes exports from the Czech Republic, with a 79% share of total exports. Moreover, baby clothes exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Austria (X tons), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Poland (X tons), with a 3.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Germany totaled +10.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Austria (+4.0% per year) and Poland (+1.3% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for babies clothing and accessories (not knitted or crocheted) exports from the Czech Republic, comprising 78% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Austria ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Poland, with a 3.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany totaled +12.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Austria (+7.1% per year) and Poland (+3.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average baby clothes export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -12.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, baby clothes export price decreased by -14.9% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average export price increased by 70%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+11.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic
In 2022, purchases abroad of babies clothing and accessories (not knitted or crocheted) was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Overall, imports enjoyed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 73% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, baby clothes imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 51% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Bangladesh (X tons), China (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of baby clothes imports to the Czech Republic, together accounting for 81% of total imports. India, Slovakia, Myanmar and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 12%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Myanmar (with a CAGR of +38.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Bangladesh ($X), China ($X) and Poland ($X) appeared to be the largest baby clothes suppliers to the Czech Republic, with a combined 73% share of total imports. India, Slovakia, Myanmar and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 17%.
Among the main suppliers, Myanmar, with a CAGR of +45.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average baby clothes import price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -15.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 38%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Myanmar ($X per ton), while the price for Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
