Exports from the Czech Republic

The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 13%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, beer exports shrank modestly to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Slovakia (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main destinations of beer exports from the Czech Republic, with a combined 53% share of total exports. Hungary, Russia, Sweden, South Korea, Austria, the UK, Italy, Croatia and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 30%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Croatia (with a CAGR of +30.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Slovakia ($X), Germany ($X) and Poland ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for beer exported from the Czech Republic worldwide, together comprising 46% of total exports. Russia, Sweden, Hungary, South Korea, Austria, the UK, the United States, Italy and Croatia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 33%.
Among the main countries of destination, South Korea, with a CAGR of +29.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average beer export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -9.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 7.9%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into the Czech Republic
In 2022, beer imports into the Czech Republic amounted to X tons, therefore, remained relatively stable against 2021 figures. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +69.2% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 26%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, beer imports declined slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated mild growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +106.8% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
Imports by Country
Poland (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of beer imports to the Czech Republic, together comprising 67% of total imports. These countries were followed by Slovakia, Italy, the Netherlands, Mexico and Belgium, which together accounted for a further 26%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Italy (with a CAGR of +32.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest beer suppliers to the Czech Republic were Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and Hungary ($X), together comprising 53% of total imports. These countries were followed by Mexico, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Italy and Belgium, which together accounted for a further 34%.
Italy, with a CAGR of +28.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average beer import price amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -4.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 19%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while the price for Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
